Real - Java floating point library for MIDP devices
Commercial license
Through some iterations with my customers I have found that 500 Euros
is a suitable price for the commercial license. It is a price that is
not insignificant to me, but almost insignificant to a medium sized
company. The library has taken months of work to perfect (and it would
save you from the same amount of work), and I believe it is the state
of the art for MIDP 1. It works of course for MIDP 2 as well.
The commercial license comes in two forms, depending on your
preference and economy.
Option #1
If the license fee is paid up-front, I offer non-restricted use (as
many applications as you want), free upgrades, and it also includes a
certain amount of support.
The terms of the agreement are as follows:
- The payment for the license will be 500 Euros, preferably paid
to my PayPal account roarl@pvv.org
- The license is given exclusively to <Your Company>, giving
this company unrestricted use of Real.java in as many commercial
applications as the company desires, and to sell these applications
in an unlimited number.
- The license also applies if the company changes name, but If
<Your Company> is bought and incorporated into a larger
company, use of the library is restricted to the applications that
were developed to a commercial state in <Your Company>.
- The license covers this version of Real.java and any past and
future versions.
- This agreement entitles <Your Company> to 5 hours of work
by Roar Lauritzsen regarding programming support and bug fixes of
the features currently advertised in the Real.java library.
Companies that have agreed to the license in this form are
undisclosed.
Option #2
If license option #1 is too much for you to handle (perhaps you are a
1-man operation), I may forego the up-front payment in favor of a
somewhat stricter agreement.
The terms of the agreement are as follows:
- Of all applications produced by <Your Company> using
Real.java, one working copy must be sent to Roar Lauritzsen.
- All applications produced by <Your Company> using
Real.java will contain one reference to the web page hosting
Real.java either in the written documentation or on a web page
relating to each specific application. Within reasonable limits, the
reference must be updated to the web page currently hosting
Real.java if requested by Roar Lauritzsen.
- Roar Lauritzsen will be allowed, but is not under an obligation
to insert a reference from the web page hosting Real.java to all
applications produced by <Your Company> using Real.java.
- The license covers this version of Real.java and any past and
future versions.
- For every full 1000 Euros or USD of revenue <Your Company>
gets of all applications together using Real.java, 5% of that amount
will be paid to Roar Lauritzsen, with an upper limit of 500 Euros in
total.
Companies and persons that have agreed to the license in this form are listed
as follows:
- Basement Academy, with the application Matwa
- Niksa Orlic, with the application MIDletPascal
